GBA has invested heavily to ensure that it is able to effectively monitor its
carbon footprint. The majority of GBA Services fleet vehicles are fitted with
equipment, which allows fleet management data to be sent back to GBA’s
servers. GBA can then calculate how much carbon is being produced by the
fleet at any given time.
Our customers will be able to check the exact carbon footprint created during
a specific customer delivery, or for a period of time.
This technology enables GBA to proactively reduce its carbon emissions;
inefficient and high CO2 producing vehicles are being identified and
phased out. Streamlined trailers, reduced friction tyres and driver awareness
training are all part of our effort to reduce CO2 emissions.
GBA Services has an environmental management system which monitors
indicators across five categories (vehicle emissions, water, energy,
waste, noise). The groups quality and environmental management department,
operates a policy of continuous improvement.
Environmental, quality and safety are closely interlinked, so the overall
co-ordination of the respective management systems has been merged, and
allows us to improve the efficiency and precision of all the measures we take.
GBA Services is promoting environmental policies and targets through its
internal qualification programme. All training courses for new employees and
drivers include an environmental module dealing with practical steps such as
fuel-efficient driving, energy saving and avoidance of waste in management
and operations.
